Merchandising Course Work 

Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop 

In this class, we developed wall directives and garment sketches to satisfy company profiles.

Fashion Show Production

As a part of Central Michigan University's Threads Fashion Show, I am a Model Committee Member. This production class gives each committee time to learn more about past fashion shows, how to produce them and plan.

Retail Buying

I am currently enrolled in the Buying class. It has helped me thus far to further understand a buyer's role within a company and calculations that he or she may use. 

Dress and Culture

During this class, I researched past and future fashion trends with a group. At the end, we created a potential fashion innovation for the future based on the athleisure trend in a paper document.

Retail Management 

The Retailing class helped me gain an insider's view to managing a store. Throughout the course of this class, I worked with a group to compare an contrast two companies' retailing strategies: Patagonia and Land's End. 

Excel Spreadsheets Concepts

Spreadsheets Concepts helped me gain a better understanding of how Excel works and fundamental knowledge of retail buying.

Product Development

iIn this class I developed merchandise for a men's swimwear and sports apparel brand. We researched the product markets, set all of it up in a software called Product Lifecycle Management, and even created the garment. 

Luxury Brand Development

During this course I studied what makes a luxury brand like Gucci or Louis Vuitton luxury. I also created a video to luxurize cotton and created new products for Hermes for a Chinese consumer market. 

Basic Apparel Construction

In this class, I learned basic stitching skills. In the end, I created a portfolio of sewing samples, a dress, and a skirt. Most importantly, I learned how patterns are made. 

Spanish Course Work 

Study Abroad: Spain

I studied abroad during the Summer of 2017 in Segovia, Spain to develop my Spanish speaking skills. There, I stayed with a host mother, completed two classes, and traveled throughout the country. 

Spanish History 

This semester long class described the history of Spain - from tribal times to current day. 

Latino Experience 

This class was very influential to my worldview. It detailed into the Latino Experience in the United States. I learned so much about life as an immigrant or as a daughter of immigrants, as well as the Latino culture. 

Advanced Spanish Conversation 

I completed this course abroad, in Segovia Spain. During this class, I challenged myself to speak in Spanish with colloquial vernaculars in small and large groups. 

Central & South American History

This semester long class described the history of Central and South America - from tribal times to current day. 

Latin American Literature

This required for students to read countless of pages of powerful poetry, letters, and stories in Spanish.
